It's funny how at some point in this last week the tension reverses: yes, things are hectic, but we are already on the far side of the hill : the stress is off, Christmas orders are ready, we can start to plan for after the holiday.
Today our model came in and we shot great pics of her for our 2010 ads. Shoppers were entertained, I think. It was snowing pretty heavily, but traffic was steady: large gifts, small gifts, not so many in the middle. It's been a great season for necklaces of all kinds, green garnets, moonstones, citrines, fire opal, and also for black and yellow rough diamonds.
Last year, there were lots of engaged couples at this time, but this year, only a few, I wonder why. We do advertise in brides' magazines, and our website, www.evejewelry.com, also generates interest.
Our staff was exchanging gifts today , but with all I 've had to do, mine are running late: I'd better wrap them tonight, except that right now, my feet hurt too much!
Most of our staff will be leaving early tomorrow, but my daughter, my husband and I will stay until the last customer is served, probably around 6.
Boy, do my feet hurt! But it's been a good season..
