ASHEVILLE (NC) — Mora designer Joanna Gollberg and editor Marthe Le Van will debut a new shopping destination for designer jewelry in Asheville, North Carolina. Mora, located at 9 West Walnut St., Suite 2A, offers brand new jewelry collections in precious metals and gemstones in a wide range of styles and prices./p>
The name Mora means peacock in Sanskrit. Gollberg and Le Van selected the name based on the rich, jewel-tone color palette they chose for the walls and furnishings in the store. Mora’s contemporary interior design merges warm Americana with an exotic opulence, according to the owners.
“There are great stories behind many of our fixtures,” said Gollberg. “For example, we salvaged and restored a set of kitchen cabinets from the 1950s and placed them on steel bases constructed by local furniture maker Billy Sproul.”
