Mother's Day Sales to Increase 6%

Retailers should prepare for rise in foot traffic, too.

ShopperTrak said it has projected national retail sales to increase six percent year-over-year in the week leading up to Mother’s Day this year. With foot traffic expected to see a four percent bump, ShopperTrack founder Bill Martin said: “Retailers can expect more shoppers in the weeks leading up to Mother’s Day ... Those who monitor foot traffic, and adjust their store management practices accordingly, will be the most successful this year.”
