Straight from the Twitterverse came this tweet from fashion designer Kenneth Cole during the height of protests in Egypt:

“Millions are in an uproar in Cairo. Rumor is they heard our new spring collection is now available online.”

Every have one of those horrifying, head-slapping, "D'oh!" moments after you hit the send button?

Within hours a fake Twitter feed mocked the tweet and garnered thousands of followers, according to the Associated Press.

Cole later had to take to Facebook to apologize for his insensitivity.

Two things to think about:

1. Imagine reading this 10 years ago. I'd be institutionalized: Twitter? Facebook? A peaceful revolution in Egypt?

2. Watch what you tweet, blog about, post on Facebook about. We're all about edgy business with a sense of humor. But it can come back to bite you if it goes a little too far.
