163 (and Counting) “Wow” Stories

I’m a sucker for those “10 most ...” or “10 best ...” Web stories or slideshows. And, I’ve got to admit, I have this thing where I check out story comments online and count how many comments it takes to devolve into mud-slinging and ad hominem attacks on the story’s author or other people commenting.

Every now and then I’m surprised and enriched by one of those top-10 stories, and my faith in online humanity is temporarily restored. Such was the case with Mental Floss’s 11 Best Customer Service Stories Ever.

If you want inspiration for “wow” service in your store, bookmark this page, because it’s not just 11 stories. As of today, 152 readers have submitted their own stories of customer service brilliance. While some I suspect are apocryphal, the vast majority are easy to spot as real, and I’m going to bet will get the creative juices flowing when it comes to ideas for how to achieve over-the-top customer service in your store.
