Traditions in the Making at the SMART Show

Just arrived in Chicago for this weekends SMART Jewelry Show, and already I'm falling into my first-day-in-Chicago routine.

Since I fly in from Bangkok and have been awake for the previous 24 hours, I always enjoy a long walk through downtown. Inevitably, I wind up at Al's Beef on West Ontario for an Italian steak sandwich and an order of bleu cheese fries. (The good thing is, the walk back to the hotel burns off about three bites worth of calories!)

I'm looking forward to Vegas this year to see what from last year's trip and new show location becomes a tradition this year.

What are some of your trade-show-trip traditions? Anything I ought to be doing in Chicago in the little time I have here before and after the show?

What are some of your traditions here in Chicago? Or what are some of your traditions in the making at "the other end" of the Las Vegas strip? We'd love to hear some of your travel traditions!
