Impossible Conversations: Gala Style

Monday provided the gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute's Exhibit, “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations."

The exhibit diplays the striking similarities between Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada, two iconic Italian designers from different decades whose work evoked themes that evoked shared themes but from different perspectives and approaches.

The actresses and models, fashion designers and editors who attended the gala also alluded to a similar theme — that of the elegance and glamour of Hollywood in it's heyday. The best of the gowns were sophisticated, feminine and refined and showed off the extreme beauty of the women who wore them. The jewelry only heightened the elegance factor with long earrings, wide cuffs, large rings, the best of art deco and antique styles gracing the most graceful of the A-list celebrities.
